A virtually finished Sunseeker 34 Metre Yacht has been destroyed by fire...

At this stage the cause of the fire at the British yard in Poole, Dorset, is not known; but we hear there is suspicion of a lightning strike.

A Sunseeker 34 Metre Yacht has been destroyed by fire on the hard-standing at the British yard’s main New Quay Road facility in Poole, Dorset. Over 50 fire-fighters began tackling the blaze just before midnight on Friday, May 6.
The yacht was just weeks away from handover to her owner, believed to be a Mexican.
Sunseeker managing director Stewart McIntre told local newspaper reporters that the company’s insurers were notified immediately during the night and investigations as to the cause are in hand.
No-one was injured during the incident.
