Shore power at Pendennis...

The mighty 56m schooner 'Adix' was recently in the slings of the Cornish yard’s 400-ton travel hoist.

SY Adix was recently launched back into the water following a seven-month refit at Pendennis that included Lloyds and MCA surveys, a full paint job and engine and generator overhauls. The 370-tonne 56m (184ft) steel-hulled auxiliary three-masted schooner is the largest yacht to date to be lift out by the company’s 400-tonne travel hoist.
This was Adix’s third major refit at the yard.
With design inputs from Arthur Holgate, Gerry Dijkstra and John Munford, she was originally built at Astilleros de Mallorca in ‘84.
Pendennis employs just over 250 people at its 6.5-acre waterside site in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK that includes two 75m dry-docks and 1,500 square-metres of hardstanding.
