New name for London stylists...

The Bannenberg superyacht design studio has changed its name to Bannenberg & Rowell Design.
MAY 2009
The name change reflects creative director Simon Rowell’s contribution to the studio he co-manages with Dickie Bannenberg, who spent 15 years or so working alongside his father, the late great Jon Bannenberg (1929-2002), who founded the firm in the early ‘60s and was generally considered to be one of the superyacht industry’s first ‘big name’ interior designers.
Simon Rowell (left) joined Dickie Bannenberg (right) in ’03 and today the studio is busier than ever with exterior styling and interior design projects. It employs nine full-time. Located at the Bridge Studios on London’s Wandsworth Bridge Road, Fulham, its recent credits include the ’08-launched De Vries-built axe-bowed 72m (236ft) Feadship Predator, the ’08-launched 47m (154ft) Heesen Elandess, which incidentally won the ‘Best yacht under 500GRT’ category at the World Superyacht Awards in mid-May, and the ’09-launched 42m (138ft) Baglietto Natori; plus work in progress is said to include a 59m (194ft) Benetti (FB250), an Abeking 60m (197ft), and a Lürssen 85m (279ft).
An Australian based in London, Jon Bannenberg, know as ‘JB’, was responsible for over 200 projects during his 40 year career in the yachting industry. His client list included the likes of Larry Ellison, Malcolm Forbes, Adnan Khashoggi and Robert Maxwell.
