Baglietto's third displacement 53m 'Baraka'...

Industry News

Cantieri Navali Baglietto recently launched Baraka (Yard No10206) from its La Spezia yard. Resplendent with her Awlgrip paint job – Flag Blue hull and Snow white superstructure – this 53m (174ft) steel/alluminium displacement motoryacht is the third of this size; the first being 'Blue Scorpion'.

Built to Lloyds rules, she’s good for a maximum cruise of 17 knots.
She was designed inside and out by Francesco Paszkowski. Her interior makes use white oak furniture and a combination of wengé and ‘Jerusalem Gold’ limestone for the floors. Margherita Casprini, who often works with Paszkowski, helped with materials selection.
She provides a full-beam master suite with balconies on either side. There is also a sun deck with a Jacuzzi, fitness centre and glass elevator.

Part of Camuzzi International, along with Cantieri di Pisa, Baglietto is a two-site operation — Varazze and La Spezia. Its original yard and headquarters is in Varazze, which is to the west of Genoa and occupies a 25,000 square-metre (269,000 square-feet) site, around 15,000 square-metres (161,000 square-feet) of which are covered. It now concentrates on building up to 40m (131ft) there, as that is the largest that can be accommodated by the site’s travel-hoist. Its protected position within a corner of the new Varazze Marina complex is particularly beneficial to that yard’s future progress.
Bagliettos second site is located around 100km or so southeast of Genoa in the naval port of La Spezia. Formerly Cantieri Ferrari, this yard was acquired in ’96 and now concentrates on the bigger displacement Bagliettos over 40m (131ft). It boasts a quayside site of 25,000 square-metres (269,000 square-feet) as well, of which 8,000 square-metres (86,000 square-feet) or so is covered, and usefully in that area of the harbour it can cope with draughts up to 6m (20ft). Its travel-hoist will cope with yachts weighing up to 720 tonnes.

At the end of January this year a fire at the La Spezia facility totally destroyed a 53m (174ft) motoryacht (yard number 10202) as well as the tented structure around her. She was just a month or so away from launching.
