Hydro Tec-designed and engineered Naumachos 105...

Italian yard Cantieri Navali di Pesaro’s new flagship Naumachos 105 was designed and engineered by Sergio Cutolo's Hydro Tec studio in Varazze.
APRIL 2009
Sergio Cutolo’s Hydro Tec studio in Varraze, near Genoa, recently completed its design and engineering work of the displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure for Cantieri Navali di Pesaro’s new flagship model, the 32.5m (107ft) Naumachos 105.
This latest creation for the Pesaro, Marches yard — which up until recently was better known for its commercial shipbuilding and refit capabilities — retains the same explorer-yacht character as the successful Naumachos 82, of which several have already delivered since the first launched in ’07 and three more are in build just now. She will be pushed along by twin 339kW C18 Caterpillars. With tankage for 60,000 litres, she will have a 4,000 mile range at a sensible 11-knot cruising speed and the potential at a more modest nine knots of up to 9,000 miles.
Delivering toward the end of ’09, the first Naumachos 105 will get an interior by Aldo Cichero.
Hydro Tec design and engineering work-in-progress runs to 15 projects. Four of the most notable include: Aifos, a 25-knot 50m (164ft) aluminium motoryachts drawn by Giorgio Vafiadis and in build at CBI Navi for a 2010 delivery; two 70m (230ft) displacement motoryachts drawn by H2 Yacht Design and in build at Tuzla, Turkey yard Proteksan (Yard No53 and 54); and Blu Desire, a 60m (197ft) Dimitris Koutoukos-drawn motoryacht under construction at the Lambda Shipyard in Greece and destined to complete for 2010.
