Baltic Yachts’ new big-boat hall...

Industry News

This waterside facility will be used to fit out the operation’s largest new-build to date, the 67m 'Project Panamax' ketch, plus it will give the company refit and service capabilities...

APRIL 2009

Baltic Yachts recently opened a huge new waterside new-build and refit facility just outside Jakobstad/Pietarsaari, 450km or so Northwest of Helsinki. Beyond significantly increasing the yard’s capacity, the 80m (260ft) long facility also gives Baltic Yachts the scope for refit and service work; it hopes to do well on that score in the future, The first new-build to make use of the building is the yard’s largest to date, the mighty 67m (219ft) ‘Project Panamax’ ketch, which is scheduled to launch in April 2010 and depart a few months later.
Baltic Yachts' main facility is 20km (12 miles) inland at Bosund.
Other work in progress includes a Baltic 112 RPN (Reichel-Pugh/Nauta) and a Judel/Vrolijk-design Baltic 65 Custom for summer and autumn 2010 deliveries respectively.
Then the 2011 delivery slots include a Judel/Vrolijk-drawn Baltic 112, a Baltic 62 Custom, a Baltic 60 Custom and the yard’s 12th Bill Tripp-designed Baltic 50.
